Typically in the form of small white glazed porcelain models, made from 1858 to 1939 crested ware items carry the coat of arms of the place where they were sold. Carlton, Shelley and Arcadian, made souvenir crested ware but Goss is considered the most collectable.
This sweet little crested ware item has been created in the design of a swan and bears the coat of arms for the town of Holyhead. It measures approx. 3.5" in height, 3.5" in length and weighs 81g.
The makers mark is a little worn but can be identified as that of Victoria China (J. R. & Co).
It is in good condition with no cracks, crazing or signs of repair. There appear to be very tiny chips / nicks to the tips of the wings in places which can be felt rather than seen and there is a tiny dark orange spot mark near one of the swans eyes.
