This attractive pair of silver plated fish knives feature an intricate etched design to the blade and tactile carved mother of pearl handles. Each knife measures approx. 7.75" long and are in good condition with only some faint scratches and wear to the metal surface. The pair of knives are presented in their original lined case which fits them perfectly. The case itself is scuffed in places and the Right side hinge is broken but the clasp snaps shut and holds the box closed.
The makers mark reads (P.A) [&] (S) |E| |P| denoting the maker to be Philip Ashberry & Sons of Sheffield. It is impossible to date the knives accurately but from research we believe the knives to have been produced at some point between 1856 and 1900.
