This very nice little oil lamp that we believe was manufactured for kitchen use features an attractive end of days style glass font in muted peach and pale green. The base is comprised of a decorative brass column on a black Jackfield style pottery base which is marked VERITAS and something indecipherable underneath. It is difficult to age the lamp accurately but from research we believe it to be c.1920's in date as this is when the Veritas trademark was made available to oil lamp manufacturers Falk, Stadelman and Co. The lamp features a double burner and the wick winders are marked BRITISH MADE
The lamp measures approx. 20.5" / 52.5 cm in height (including the chimney), 7" / 18 cm in diameter (the base) and weighs 2.5kg
There is a bit of play between the font and the base, the burner is rather tarnished and is dented where the wicks come out also the gallery that holds the chimney has a small section missing (see photos)
