This item is an unusual pottery / china moneybox that has been created to depict the birthplace of D.H. Lawrence by the British company AST Ceramics of Langley (according to the marks on the base).

The building measures approx. 8" x 4.5" x 2" and weighs 346g. It is in excellent overall condition and has obviously not been used as the only way to get money out of it (without damaging the money slot) would be to smash it. There is crazing to the glaze, most noticeably on the cream glaze to the reverse but this is only really noticeable close to.
